Edwin Arrieta’s family is devastated after confirming his murder and dismemberment at the hands of Daniel Sancho. The confessed perpetrator gave details of the crime and how he disposed of the body to the Thai authorities, but the evidence collected by the investigators leaves no room for doubt: only the Spaniard could be the architect of such great carnage.

While the investigators finish completing the proceedings, and the police investigation is yet to be closed, Darling Arrieta, sister of the Colombian surgeon, has given one last interview where she makes a desperate appeal for justice to be done and that the murder of her brother ” don’t go unpunished.” In addition, the woman assures her when she began to distrust Sancho as the author of the events.

During the interview, given to RCN News, Darling Arrieta explained how he found out about the murder of his brother Edwin, to whom he was very close and with whom he spoke every day. However, as soon as she stopped receiving her messages, something made the woman suspicious and she began to track the surgeon’s social networks until she found Daniel Sancho.

“I asked him what he knew about my brother and he told me that he lost track of him on the beach. Holy God! How can he be your friend and not know where he is? I told him to run and report it,” Darling began by explaining. The Spaniard listened to him and went to the authorities to report the disappearance.

Meanwhile, the sister “quickly called the Colombian consulate” and “asked them to please not let that man leave the country because I suspected him.” Darling had the intuition that Daniel Sancho was behind the disappearance of his brother: “I mistrusted him.”

So the consulate informed him that they would “notify the Thai authorities” to quickly report what happened. “Thank you to the Colombian consulate for acting quickly and allowing Daniel to be detained,” said Darling, who at all times was saddened, moved and devastated by the dramatic events.

And even more so when he remembered the moment when a worker from the Colombian consulate notified him that they had found a body. “I asked him: ‘Is he my brother?’ She was silent, and then I knew: he was my brother, ”she recalled through tears.

Immediately afterwards, Darling had to inform his parents that his brother had been murdered, an event that the mother sensed. “I had a presentiment, I had him here, that my son had been killed,” she recounted completely rueful and unable to contain her tears.

One of the requests made by the Arrieta family and, more specifically, the mother, is that they deliver Edwin’s ashes to place them in an ossuary. They don’t want the body, they want the ashes. And it is that her mother “already has the place where they are going to bring my brother. For my mom, that pain gets bigger. It’s quite a heavy cross.”

Finally, Darling, on behalf of his entire family, urges that his brother’s crime “do not go unpunished”, that the Thai authorities do justice, and that “respect” be kept both for the memory of his brother and for all their families. Let us remember that, after the crime, information came to light that linked the surgeon to drug trafficking or that his death was the consequence of previous threats made by him.
