Like every December 28, thousands of people in our country suffer all kinds of jokes (some heavier than others) on the occasion of the Holy Innocents’ Day. While family and friends perform small pranks on their loved ones, our country’s influencers play tricks on their millions of followers by posting fake news on their Instagram, TikTok or X (formerly known as Twitter) profiles.

This is the case of Gloria Camila Ortega. The daughter of Ortega Cano and Rocío Jurado shared a post on her official Instagram account in which she claimed that she was pregnant: ”After many rumors, today we felt the need to tell you what you have been asking us for a long time… David and I can finally confirm that we are expecting a baby. “We are excited and looking forward to enjoying this new stage that we begin together.”

”We know that being the day it is, April Fool’s Day, many of you will say that it is a joke and that is why we decided to make it official today, so that those who want to believe it and accompany us on this path do so, and those who do not, We leave you with your own opinion,” the content creator wrote in the publication.

Although a large part of her audience claimed that it was a joke, many others believed that Gloria Camila would never use a topic as serious as motherhood to have fun on April Fool’s Day.

After a few hours, Rocío Carrasco’s sister edited the general text of her post and added at the end a phrase that ended the joke: ”Happy April Fools”. At that moment, she published a video of her in her stories in which she shared her impressions of the innocent incident and in which she thanked people for their support: ”We thank you for your congratulations. I hope one day it will be true, but not at the moment.”

Many followers of the television collaborator criticized her performance and defended that nowadays being a mother is too serious a topic to launch these jokes, as well as that “not everything goes” to gain engagement and join the trends. of social networks. ”You don’t play with those things”, ”There are women who are fighting every day to be a mother”, ”You’re a scoundrel” are some of the comments that can be read online on the subject.

The wave of criticism that the influencer has received has been so great that she has had to come out to defend herself publicly. Gloria Camila has uploaded several videos to the same social network explaining the great frustration she feels when seeing how many people can make all kinds of jokes and she receives disproportionate hatred: ”Everyone can make jokes except Gloria. This is a joke (…) That everything I do has to be looked at with a magnifying glass… (…) You have me constantly in your sights. “I’m tired, I’m fed up.”
