From Penélope Cruz to Margot Robbie: the elegant red carpet at the Governors Awards

Just two days after the Golden Globes, Hollywood celebrities once again put on their best clothes for the Governors Awards, awards that are considered the prelude to the Oscars. In this edition, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) recognized Angela Bassett’s career, as well as other outstanding works of the year.

The event, which was held at The Ray Dolby Ballroom, brought together a good number of actors and actresses, including Penélope Cruz, Margot Robbie and Emma Stone, who dazzled on a red carpet that was marked by black and white. These were the most elegant looks:

Penélope Cruz was faithful to Chanel, the brand for which she is an ambassador, to dazzle on one of the first red carpets of the year. The Spanish woman dressed as a bride in a beautiful dress with a corseted body with floral embroidery and a voluminous skirt. She surprised with her new mid-length hair with the ends slightly molded inwards.

Margot Robbie changed Barbie pink for elegant black with a beautiful Celine dress, with a V-neckline embellished with rhinestones and slits that left part of her toned abdomen visible.

Natalie Portman also opted for openings with a spectacular Schiaparelli design with a triangular neckline and gold chain detail. The actress only needed a red lipstick and matching manicure to achieve an impactful look.

Emma Stone surprised with this original Fendi creation that left her shoulders bare and had an opening in the abdomen. Her batwing sleeves and high-waisted flared skirt with an asymmetrical opening also caught her attention. She completed her look with two-tone pumps.

Florence Pugh opted for a pretty pink sequin design from Rodarte. A dress that had a crossover neckline decorated with a tulle flower and a peplum detail that highlighted her waist.

Carey Mulligan opted for the infallible black and white duo with this Celine dress with an original asymmetrical and voluminous neckline.

Emily Blunt was another of the guests who chose black, in this case, with a Miu Miu creation, with a pronounced V-neckline that had a striking jewel collar as a necklace.

Olivia Rodrigo chose a simple vintage Yves Saint Laurent dress with a velvet sweetheart neckline and satin skirt.

Greta Gerwig wore a Dior Haute Couture proposal, with a black coat dress and white shirt.

Julianne Moore shined in a Valentino cape dress full of silver sequins. A striking look that she wore with her natural hair, a style that is being seen a lot on these first red carpets of the year.

Leonardo DiCaprio in a suit with the white shirt unbuttoned.

Glenn Close wore a white tunic dress in which she looked radiant.

Eva Longoria wore the festive sequins with a jewel design by Sophie Couture with the flattering halter neck and leaving her back bare. A look that was finished off with a long braid.

Juliette Binoche was another of the guests who brought flowers to the event with an elegant satin Prada design with crystal and sequin embroidery on the neckline.

Zac Efron brought the trendy red to the red carpet with this Fendi proposal, with embroidered details on the lapel of the jacket.

America Ferrera did not leave anyone indifferent with his Moschino tuxedo with cummerbund and bow tie.

Bradley Cooper was impeccable in a Louis Vuitton suit that combined classic black and dark blue.

Rosamund Pike brought spring to the red carpet with this striking dress from Erdem’s spring-summer 2024 collection filled with 3D flowers and a deep sweetheart neckline.

Lenny Kravitz once again showed off his eccentric style with this total black look.
