He is one of the most recognizable stars on the American small screen, and Andy Cohen has been hosting the country’s most popular reality shows for years with his inimitable charisma. However, just as he has millions of followers, he also has an equal number of detractors: his jokes, often loaded with sarcasm and sexual intent, are not to everyone’s taste.
Brandi Glanville, one of the stars of the successful saga The Real Housewives, has said enough and has denounced the head of the Bravo channel for sexually harassing her. The 51-year-old actress claims that the presenter sent her a video in 2022 in which she appeared “obviously drunk” and left her a message with high sexual content.
According to Page Six after obtaining a copy of the letter that Glanville’s lawyers have sent to the NBC network and the production company Warner Bros., Cohen would have shown inappropriate behavior towards her. In the video, the presenter would appear with several too many drinks and, meanwhile, he tells Glanville that, although he wanted to “sleep with another star” of the network, he was going to “think” about Glanville while having sex.
The video, presumably, would not end with this declaration of intentions, since Cohen would have invited the actress herself to watch him have sex through a mobile application.
“Mr. Cohen was Ms. Glanville’s boss at the time, and exercised total and complete control over her career,” her lawyers write, calling the situation “an extraordinary abuse of power” that would have left the actress “disgusted.” “.
The actress’s lawyers ask the network and the production company – responsible for Bravo, the channel directed by Andy Cohen – to remove the presenter from his position. “It is inconceivable that economic benefits are prioritized over people,” point out the lawyers, who ask other stars of the network to follow in Glanville’s footsteps and tell her testimonies. According to Variety, more than 50 people related to Bravo reality shows have reported having suffered some type of mistreatment.
Just a few hours after this accusation came to light, Andy Cohen responded through his social networks. The presenter acknowledged that he had sent a video to the actress, but insists that it was sent and received “with laughter.”
According to Cohen, who also identifies the third woman involved as actress Kate Chastain, they both sent the videos to Glanville as a prank. The presenter turned to his account on X (former Twitter) to issue an apology.
“In the video you can see that Kate Chastain and I are very clearly joking with Brandi. It was funny, and Brandi’s response also suggests that she was in on the joke. That being said, it was inappropriate and for that I apologize.”
