On Wednesday the 21st, the Jacquemus firm revealed on Instagram a project it has been working on in recent months. “I gave him a swoosh. This monday”, reads the text that accompanies a photograph of a bag with a very recognizable shape.
Jacquemus thus signs his first collaboration with Nike to launch the first “luxury” bag with the silhouette of the sports brand’s legendary logo. It is known what the bag will be like and when the launch will be (next Monday the 26th), but the French brand wanted to play with several unknowns.
First of all, Jacquemus asked his followers the question: “Can you imagine who the campaign image is?” In the image you can see a tattooed arm and hands with long, sharp nails holding the bag. An open debate quickly arose in the comments about who was the person hiding behind that arm.
The correct answer was clear: the athletics phenomenon, the American Sha’Carri Richardson. Her characteristic tattoos, her explosive image and her contract with Nike made her the perfect candidate for this collaboration that merges the representative codes of both brands.
Secondly, Jacquemus keeps the price of this new ‘it bag’ a secret. The Frenchman’s models range between 500 and 1000 euros, while those from Nike range between 60 and 100 euros. Therefore, some speculation places the price at around 400 euros. Finally, the number of units available remains to be known, since this is a collaboration and it is expected to be a limited collection.
