This past Saturday, May 4, the Telecinco program presented by Emma García, Fiesta, addressed the case of Daniel Sancho, the Spaniard accused of ending the life of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta on the Thai island of Ko Pha Ngan last month. of August. The trial against the Spanish chef ended this past Thursday, May 2, and the sentence will be announced on August 29 at 10 in the morning.
During the program, journalist José Ángel Leiras, who was still in Thailand, said that during his stay in the Asian country they had recorded several reports for the program. In the middle of recording one of them, the space team had had a small run-in with Rodolfo Sancho and his lawyer, Carmen Balfagón.
”This morning, filming in a swimsuit on the beach, we approached a massage center. I was recording a sequence and at that moment, with the camera on and in full recording, I heard: ”Leiras, what are you doing? Why are you recording?” I look and see that Rodolfo Sancho is there, who turns around and turns his back on me angrily. And Carmen Balfagón, the spokesperson, comes to me to tell me not to record and asking me for explanations,’ he said.
It was at that moment when the reporter explained that they were recording a report on the island’s tourism and that it had nothing to do with their presence at the massage center. The lawyer asked him if she had permission to record and he responded that he had everything in order. ”Carmen told me ”you can’t record here” and I told her ”calm down because we’re not going after Rodolfo. I already know that Rodolfo doesn’t want to talk. He speaks only for a platform for a huge amount of money and he is not going to say anything to us,’ the journalist assured.
After broadcasting part of the images of the event live, the presenter attacked the actor and the lawyer for their attitude: ”You just left me a little upset because Carmen works with us and we have a very good relationship…I’m surprised that has not spoken calmly.” In addition, the reporter revealed that the lawyer had planned to enter the program live for an interview, but for personal reasons she had to be delayed an hour. ”To me it seems ugly and disappointing,” Leiras stressed.
For her part, Emma García appeared confident with the situation, assuring that everything was going to be solved because the lawyer was “a great professional.” However, she did want to make clear her anger with the actor: ”She does very well in earning money and helping her son. I support him, but just as we respect him, he should too. He does her a disservice. Furthermore, he knows us. And now I’m pissed off! Man, it’s true. We are always very respectful there and we know how far we have to go,’ she said.
