Disaster in 'Catch a Million': two friends lose all their money in the first question

Catch a Million is one of the most beloved entertainment television formats in our country. The program has had different stages and presenters throughout Spanish audiovisual history, since it started in 2011 with Carlos Sobera and is currently broadcast in prime time on Antena 3 with Juanra Bonet.

After a break, the show returned to the small screen on January 27 and, in a matter of a few weeks, the contest has given the audience countless moments that make it one of the viewers’ favorite bets.

In the last episode, the audience was shocked by the passage of Laura and Itziar through the program. The friends, who became inseparable when they were studying in high school, declared themselves fans of the program and confessed that they had been encouraged to participate because they wanted to earn some money so they could treat themselves.

However, the women did not have much luck, as they decided to play all or nothing and lost all the money in the first question, thus marking a record in the history of the Atresmedia program.

”Which of these dishes has cuttlefish among its ingredients?” was the question of contention that Bonet posed. The program gave the young women four answers, of which several options were completely out of the question: “Rice with crust, fried chocos, patatas bravas and four canes.”

Although they were thinking about leaving some money on the fried cuttlefish option, the young women reflected and came to the conclusion that they were different species, so they put all the money in the ‘crusted rice’ box. Seconds later, the protagonists were shocked to see how the money fell into the pit due to their mistake and how their participation came to an end as soon as it began due to a bad move.

”Fried cuttlefish are a typical tapa prepared with cuttlefish,” Juanra Bonet explained while the young women looked sad and surprised. ”I can’t believe it,” said one of them while she covered her face with her hands and her relatives smiled tenderly from the stands of the television set.

Although a couple of weeks ago we saw how two young engineering students became legends by winning the highest jackpot in the history of the show, this time we are also facing a record: the shortest participation of a couple in Catch a Million .
