Dani Alves has been in prison since January 20, accused of allegedly raping a young woman in a Barcelona nightclub on December 30. Despite the defense’s attempts to obtain probation, the justice system has repeatedly rejected this request, appreciating a “high flight risk” and due to the “severe” and “various” indications of criminality.

In these months, the former Barcelona player has received the unconditional support of his family. For example, from his brother Ney Alves, who has defended him tooth and nail.

Among the many messages published on social networks, the message addressed to his ex-wife Joana Sanz stands out, whom he directly points to. “You are a human being and you only made a mistake with your wife. And that is not a crime to treat you like a criminal,” he wrote in one of his Instagram stories, a text that accompanied a photograph where they both shake hands.

“We are going to show the world that you are not a rapist and you never will be. I love you, my brother,” Ney Alves stressed, in a closed defense of the footballer.

Alves’ brother has not stopped posting messages of support for the Brazilian. “January 20, 2023. The day the world fell headlong and even without understanding I trust you, God alone in you. Although we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will not fear any evil. Glory to God for everything,” he wrote in his latest publication, which he accompanied with a video with the most important moments in the footballer’s career.

In an interview with La Vanguardia, Dani Alves continues to deny the accusations of rape. The defendant maintains that he previously agreed with the young woman that they would have sexual relations in the bathroom and that “everything that happened and did not happen there inside her is only known to her and me.”

Precisely, in that interview, the footballer assures that one of his biggest concerns at the moment is “to apologize to the only person I have to apologize to”, his wife, Joana Sanz.
