Criminal Minds: Evolution Renewed for Season 3 at Paramount+

Paramount+ has officially renewed “Criminal Minds: Evolution” for a third season. The production for the upcoming season is set to begin later this year.

The announcement of the renewal comes just one day before the highly anticipated Season 2 premiere of the series. Season 2 is scheduled to kick off with two episodes on June 6, followed by weekly releases on Thursdays.

Season 3 will continue to follow the FBI’s elite team of profilers as they delve into the mysterious case of Gold Star. The plot thickens as the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) faces a new challenge when serial killer Elias Voit strikes a deal to be transferred to federal custody in their jurisdiction. The team must navigate through unforeseen obstacles, leading to mind-bending consequences.

The star-studded cast of “Criminal Minds: Evolution” includes original members Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Ryan-James Hatanaka, Adam Rodriguez, and Paget Brewster. Guest appearances in the upcoming season will feature Felicity Huffman as Dr. Jill Gideon, the former wife of Jason Gideon. Other guest stars include Clark Gregg, Liana Liberato, Paul F. Tompkins, Tuc Watkins, and Brian White.

Showrunner and executive producer Erica Messer leads the production team, along with executive producers Breen Frazier, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw, and Mark Gordon. The series is a collaboration between ABC Signature and CBS Studios.

“Criminal Minds: Evolution” serves as a continuation of the original “Criminal Minds,” which had a successful run of 15 seasons on CBS before concluding in 2020. The first season of “Evolution” premiered on Paramount+ in 2022.
