The 47th annual Colorado Renaissance Festival is making a triumphant return to Larkspur this weekend, bringing with it a magical experience for all who attend. The festival, which spans eight weeks, will showcase artisans, vendors, and entertainment that will transport visitors back to the 16th century.
With over 100,000 attendees each year, the Colorado Renaissance Festival has become a beloved tradition for many families. People travel from near and far to partake in the festivities, with some coming from Denver, Colorado Springs, and even across the country. The festival stands out as one of the largest in the country, boasting more than 200 artisans showcasing their pottery, leatherwork, and jewelry.
Artistic director Kristy Ekiss encourages both newcomers and seasoned festival-goers to immerse themselves fully in the experience. She advises attendees to say ‘yes’ to everything and embrace the whimsical world created at the festival. With a diverse lineup of acts, including comedy shows, jousting tournaments, and musical performances, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The Colorado Renaissance Festival will run every Saturday and Sunday until August 4th, promising fun for the whole family rain or shine. While parking at the festival grounds is free, attendees should be aware of road closures and heavy traffic along I-25 on festival days. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has announced road closures on Bear Dance Drive south of Tomah Road on weekends from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
