This morning the world of the Spanish heart has risen with the loss of one of its most emblematic figures of the 80s and 90s. Marta Chávarri died this past dawn at the age of 62, and a few hours later she was found lifeless by her assistant in the apartment she had in Madrid. The one who in her day was the Marquise of Cubas has left a very important void in society, both because of her carefree attitude and because of her philanthropy, and there are many of her who mourn her.
One of the latest figures to speak out has been Nicolás Vallejo-Nágera, better known by his nickname Colate. The entrepreneur was a close friend of the socialite, appearing together for the last time in July 2022, when he presented his book Colate by Nicolás. However, the contrast with that last meeting is very different from today, in which he showed up at Chávarri’s house looking very bad, without wanting to answer the journalists’ questions.
Colate has arrived this morning at the house located in the Spanish capital, shortly after the son of the deceased, Álvaro Falcó, did. Immediately, a team of reporters from Europa Press wanted to know her opinion regarding the death of her friend. The writer ended up asking “please” not to ask him questions related to the tragedy, and he simply continued on his way until he passed through the door, without answering a single question.
The entrepreneur has met Álvaro Falcó and his wife Isabelle Junot, who had arrived at the house some time before, in the building. Both have appeared there in a black vehicle, wearing gray clothing and sunglasses. Neither of them has made any kind of statement to the media, showing serious and affected faces. This loss occurs shortly after the birth of Philippa, his first daughter.
Another couple that may be affected by this death is that of Tamara Falcó and Íñigo Onieva. The Marquise de Griñón, Marta Chávarri’s niece-in-law, could return to Spain soon, with the intention of attending her funeral and supporting her cousin Álvaro. This has been reported by Semana magazine through its digital portal, in an action that would paralyze the honeymoon that both were currently spending in Cape Town, South Africa.
Marta Chávarri was one of the most prominent figures in the world of the heart at the end of the 80s. Great-granddaughter of the Count of Romanones and daughter of the diplomat Tomás Chávarri and Matilde Figueroa, and niece of Natalia Figueroa, wife of the singer Raphael, she stood out for showing a most casual style. One of her most notorious moments occurred in February 1989, when the magazine Interviú published some controversial photographs in which she was not wearing underwear.
