The singer Céline Dion is having a very hard year. Supported by her family and the millions of fans she has around the world, the 1988 Eurovision winner deals every day with rigid person syndrome, a neurological disorder that she was diagnosed with ten months ago and that affects one in every million people.

Although Claudette (sister of the artist) has explained on several occasions that Dion has had a very bad time in recent months due to various aches and pains, she made it clear in a recent interview that the voice of the My Heart singer will go on or Because you loved me is still intact: ”Those who claim that my sister’s voice has disappeared are wrong. She has sung several notes to me over the phone and her voice is still the same. I felt very happy and calm listening to it.”

To help research the disease she suffers from from her position, the winner of two Oscars has decided to participate in a charity auction to raise funds and has put up for sale two manuscripts with the lyrics of two of her songs.

One of the songs is The Prayer, a piece that won him a Golden Globe award and which he recorded with tenor Andrea Bocelli in 1988 in English as part of the soundtrack of the film The Magic Sword: The Search for Camelot. The lot in which it is included also has the original sheet music by David Foster, author of the song. The second manuscript contains the lyrics of The Gift, a song that forms the soundtrack of the film Love Again. In this case, the package includes a CD on which Tina Parol has written a phrase with a black marker: “Love is the gift!”

The sale of these musical manuscripts is part of a very exciting initiative that Julen’s Auctions has started under the name Lyrics for a cause.

The bidding will start on November 14 at 6:00 p.m. (local time) at the Hard Rock Café in Nashville, United States, but can be followed from all over the world through the company’s website. It should be noted that the Canadian’s two songs start at a starting price of $200, although higher offers are expected. Although there are still two weeks left until the big day, there are already two people interested in paying $300 for each piece.
