The arrest of Rafael Amargo for an alleged crime of drug trafficking has grabbed the main headlines this Friday. This is the second time in just over two years that the bailaor has been arrested for this same reason, although on the previous occasion, at the end of 2020, he was released after testifying in court.
This time, there is also talk that Amargo would have assaulted one of the agents who proceeded to arrest him, giving him several punches and biting him, according to the version being investigated. They talked about it this Friday afternoon at Sálvame, something for which they had a person who knows the bailaor very well: his partner Iván Segura Ruiz, better known on the professional scene as Chaskío.
The also bailaor, who “has been working with Rafael Amargo in show business for several months”, has spoken with Terelu Campos and María Patiño on the set of the Telecinco program. Both share scenarios in Alicante, the city where Amargo has been detained by the police forces.
According to Chaskío, Rafael would be “very nervous lately”, and he has assured that he feels “sorry” for the events that have recently surrounded the artist. “Being an artist as good as he is, it’s a shame that lately he’s been a bit out of his mind,” he assured in Sálvame.
Asked by Patiño if Amargo is a “responsible at work” person, Iván stated that “lately he was arriving a little later to concerts” and insisted that he would have changed radically in recent times. Despite this 180-degree turn, “his life” would still go “to where he likes: art and dance.”
“It is not exactly what we are seeing or what is happening. The facts are there,” Terelu added to the news of his recent arrest. Chaskío has pointed out that Rafael Amargo “did not get to perform” on the night of the event and “stopped before the concert.”
Finally, Iván has made a personal assessment of the alleged aggression against his partner on stage, facts that are still being investigated. “Me, really, not because I’m his friend or cantaor, the luck I have at his side. That doesn’t enter my head, because I do have to say that the people who really know him, that what is being said, it doesn’t add up to me”, he has settled.
