María del Carmen García Galisteo, better known as Carmen Sevilla, has died this Tuesday at the age of 92 at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation, as reported by her son Augusto Algueró to Europa Press. The veteran actress was admitted last Sunday to a Madrid hospital in very serious condition, due to a complication in her already delicate state of health.
Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease since 2009, few data have been available about the charismatic artist, who has not made any public appearance in all that time. It was in 2010 when we could see her for the last time on television, together with María Teresa Campos, who would conduct her last interview after leaving her program Cine de Barrio.
Her son, Augusto Algueró, was the one who gave details of her state of health since, in 2015, the artist was admitted to a nursing home: “Her state is complicated, but she is stable within her situation.
