The Asunta case has become the series of the moment. After the success of the fiction The Burning Body, based on the crime committed by the Urban Police and starring Úrsula Corberó and Quim Gutierréz, the streaming platform decided to go for the same plot line and adapt one of the most high-profile crimes in the country. : the murder of Asunta Basterra.
The 12-year-old girl was murdered by her own adoptive parents, Rosario Porto and Alfonso Basterra, on September 21, 2013 in the Galician municipality of Teo, 22 km from Santiago de Compostela. After a long period of investigations, the lawyer and the journalist were sentenced in 2016 to 18 years in prison for the murder of her adopted daughter.
The series, which has become one of the most in-demand content on the platform, stars Candela Peña and Tristán Ulloa, who play Rosario Porto and Alfonso Basterra. The cast is completed with actors of the stature of Javier Gutiérrez, María León, Carlos Blanco and Francesc Orella.
In the various interviews that part of the cast has done to promote the premiere of the series, Candela Peña has revealed that when she first put on Rosario Porto’s wig she couldn’t stop vomiting. In addition, the actress has also assured that, despite it having been one of the most complicated challenges of her acting career, she is very proud of her performance and that she has greatly enjoyed the process.
Since its premiere, the series has become an audiovisual phenomenon in our country and outside our borders. The main reason for this success is the impeccable performance of its protagonists, Candela Peña and Tristán Ulloa, who have managed to overwhelm viewers with their respective performances.
For this reason, the streaming platform wanted to continue promoting its popular series with a series of images from the filming, where we can see the actress minutes before facing one of her most complicated scenes: Rosario Porto’s statement before the judge.
