'Caiga que Caiga', very close to returning to television

Mediaset is preparing the return to Telecinco of one of the most iconic programs on Spanish television. The audiovisual group is working on the return of ‘Caiga Quien Caiga’ for the next season. This format, known for its irreverent approach and its uncomfortable interviews with politicians, famous and anonymous, will adapt to the new times.

As Algo Pasa TV has exclusively published, the return will be produced by Warner Bros ITVP Spain, the same production company responsible for the hit ‘First Dates’. Currently, they are in the casting phase to select the new presenters and reporters who will be the visible face of the program. The intention is that ‘Caiga que Caiga’ is one of Mediaset’s big bets for the 2024-2025 season.

‘Caiga qué Caiga’ has had several stages throughout its history, beginning on Telecinco in 1996, where it was broadcast until 2002. In that initial stage, the program was hosted by El Gran Wyoming, Javier Martín and Juanjo de la Iglesia. Subsequently, the format passed through laSexta in 2008 and Cuatro in 2010, where it underwent a significant change when it was presented by women: Ana Milan, Silvia Abril and Tània Sàrrias.

Throughout all its stages, ‘Caiga qué Caiga’ has stood out for its reporters, many of whom have become recognized figures on television, such as Pablo Carbonell, Christian Gálvez, Antonio Castelo, Eugeni Alemany and Gonzo, among others. The mix of humor, criticism and current events made the program a benchmark in entertainment.

This return promises to revive the legendary glasses and the characteristic black suit of the program, 14 years after its last broadcast on Cuatro and 28 years after its premiere on Telecinco.

The revival of ‘Caiga qué Caiga’ joins other major Mediaset projects for the next season, including a new access prime time format presented by Carlos Latre and the long-awaited return of ‘Big Brother’. ‘Caiga Qui Caiga’ aspires to be a success again, combining its original essence with modern elements to capture the audience’s attention.
