Monday’s California judge found enough evidence to bring a man who was briefly married to Britney Stars to trial for felony stalking.
Ventura County Judge David Worley decided that Jason Allen Alexander, 40, should be tried on the charges. Court records show that Alexander was also charged with misdemeanors of vandalism, trespassing and battery.
Alexander’s attorney entered not guilty pleas to all charges. He was not present and is still in jail.
On June 9, Spears married Sam Asghari, her longtime boyfriend, at her Thousand Oaks home, California. The ceremony was attended by several dozen people, including Drew Barrymore and Paris Hilton, as well as Madonna.
Alexander, a childhood friend and spouse of Spears, was uninvited to the house prior to the ceremony. He livestreamed his raid via Instagram.
Richard Eubler was a former security guard for Spears. He testified Monday that Alexander entered her home and climbed up to the bedroom door while she was there, according to multiple media reports.
Eubler stated that Alexander tried to get into the property days before the wedding.
Sandra Bisignani (Alexander’s lawyer) argued that there was no evidence that he intended to harm Spears.
