Belén Esteban is one of the most beloved people in our country. The ‘People’s Princess’, she has been dedicated to television for more than 20 years, where she is considered one of her best collaborators. Andrea Janeiro’s mother managed to gain a foothold in such a difficult industry thanks to her authenticity, honesty and self-confidence.

Although Jesulín de Ubrique’s ex is living a happy time with her family and her business, not everything was always rosy. The one from Paracuellos had problems with drugs for a long time, something that changed her life completely, even having to abandon her position in Sálvame for more than a year.

At that time, Esteban hid his serious addiction as best he could, but others muttered about what was happening. “It will have to be the family that makes decisions, against what she wants because she is not there to decide,” the presenter Jorge Javier Vázquez came to comment publicly. For her part, Ana Rosa Quintana expressed that she personally offered to help her, but that she had to remedy the situation: “She has to enter a center for a long time to detoxify.”

Although the enemy of Toño Sanchís returned to the small screen recovered and today she boasts of not having had a relapse in ten years, the worker at La Fábrica de la Tele always talks about those years with a small mouth and refers to her addiction such as ”the problem you had” or ”your illness”.

In the latest issue of Semana magazine, Esteban has opened up on the channel about that episode of his life and has spoken like never before about what it meant for her to have to go through that hard process.

Acknowledging that going through that experience has made her the woman she is today, Anabel Pantoja’s friend explained to the pink media that her drug problem was her fault solely and exclusively and that many people around her feared for his life: “Óscar Cornejo, Carlota Corredera, Raúl Prieto and Jorge Javier Vázquez were very hard on me.”

The collaborator has recognized that she reached a point where she looked in the mirror and did not recognize herself: “I weighed 35 kilos… At that moment I could say anything and accuse people, but who was to blame was Belen Esteban”. She has also expressed for the magazine of the heart that she does not talk about this issue because her mother hurts and because her husband does not like it, but that she is not ashamed of what she experienced.

In the interview, Esteban has acknowledged that he has not used again since he came out of that well because he found full happiness in sobriety. To finish with the subject, Esteban has sent a direct message to all the people who suffer from this type of addiction: “That’s what you get out of, but you have to want it.”

The winner of Big Brother VIP has also spoken about her relationship with Miguel Marcos, with whom she wants to spend the rest of her life, but who she would not forgive for giving an interview: ”With a famous woman in the family, we go a long way. I would break up if I gave an interview.”

She has also assured that she is still as in love with her husband as the first day and that she loves that Marcos knows exactly where he belongs and treats her so well: “I hope to be with him for the rest of my life.”
