Miss Universe 2023 is already underway. There are very few hours left to find out who will be the winner of this new edition. Athenea Pérez is the Spanish representative to win the title this year, and the truth is that the young woman has already made a very good impression with her first style. At the pre-contest gala, she dazzled with her flamenco-inspired look. 85 candidates are playing for the title this weekend in San Salvador, capital of the Republic of El Salvador, and all of them have already made a first parade with their respective regional costumes. It has been a display of fashion and cultures that has not left anyone indifferent.
As we said, Pérez took the stage of the event with a flamenco dress that achieved a perfect fusion between tradition and current fashion. Those in charge of making it were Kino Lagares Pérez and Antonio Acevedo Fernández from the Siempre Viva brand. The spectacular garment stands out for its yellow color and its innovative style. “This is a dream and I don’t want to wake up. What I experienced yesterday has no name. The entire audience cheering me on, me feeling so beautiful. THANK YOU, without you, I would be nobody,” said the model through her social networks .
The dress, in an elegant pale yellow, fits perfectly to the model’s figure, and you can see a spectacular V-neckline and long sleeves. The dress stands out for its voluminous and billowing skirt, with layers of vibrant yellow fabric that are reminiscent of flower petals, adding a certain drama to the look. As for her hairstyle, the young woman completed her style with an updo with bangs, and gave it a flamenco touch with red flowers.
Not much is known about this promising young model. Born to a Murcian father and an Equatorial Guinean mother, she is 27 years old and graduated in Advertising and Marketing from the Nebrija University in Madrid. She loves art and sports, but especially rhythmic gymnastics. On the other hand, she has been on the cover of recognized magazines and has worked on campaigns for brands such as Citroën, Seat or Garnier. It was at an early age when she started in the world of modeling. “When I was 14, I joined Monroe Models because I went to the Nueva Condomina shopping center in Murcia to accompany a friend to a casting, but since it was open to everyone, I showed up and won,” she explained in an interview with El Español.
For all those who want to see the spectacular fashion display, in Spain the Miss Universe gala can be followed from 2:00 a.m. from Saturday to Sunday. The event will be available live on the official Miss Universe YouTube channel. We will have to wait to find out what style our candidate for the gala surprises us with, and we will also have to wait to find out which model she will finally be crowned.
