Anna Castillo has become, on her own merits, one of the most outstanding actresses in Spanish audiovisuals. Over the years she has earned the appreciation and respect of colleagues, spectators and critics alike, adding a Goya, a Gaudí and two Feroz to her achievements. In recent weeks the media has linked her to Álvaro Mel, her partner in the series A perfect story, something that has uncovered scuffles on social networks.

The performer published a message on Instagram claiming her bisexuality, following several criticisms and biphobic messages received recently. After ending a relationship with the photographer Lara Blanco in October 2022, many users have questioned the possibility that Castillo could maintain romantic relationships with people of different genders. As a result, the actress has not remained silent and has left a warning to her followers.

“Girls, be very careful with biphobia, it is a very ugly thing,” he indicated in a story, along with a photograph with a pair of long ribbons symbolizing tears. The text was separated into three lines, each with the three colors of the flag representing bisexuality: pink, purple and blue. A message accompanied by public recognition of her orientation, one of the few times that she has spoken about her private life: “I am bisexual and I discovered my bisexuality when I was older.”

The possible connection with Álvaro Mel would have arisen during the filming of A perfect story, the series adaptation for Netflix of the novel by Elísabet Benavent. During the following months, both were sharing photographs together on social networks, increasing speculation among followers. In mid-August, the Socialité program caught them in a bowling alley, with a witness claiming that she saw them “eating each other’s mouths.”

Likewise, another kiss that would confirm the relationship between the two was leaked this week, through the TikTok account of the Tavern Remedios in Madrid. It was during an evening to celebrate the birthday of an influencer. The couple and other prominent figures from A Perfect Tale were present at the venue, such as Elísabet Benavent herself. The tavern deleted the video as soon as it was posted, but the footage went viral within hours.

“Anna uploaded a story congratulating her and then the poor one saying that biphobia is ugly… namely the private messages she will be receiving,” commented a user in a publication by Abel Planelles, the tiktoker specialized in rumors from the world of the heart. “How is marketing going to be? “They didn’t even realize that they were being recorded, they make a beautiful couple,” read another message, responding to those accusations.
