After the announcement on Saturday that Chenoa will be the new presenter of Operación Triunfo on Amazon Prime Video, the platform revealed this morning during a meeting with the media new details of this long-awaited return, such as that Noemà Galera and Manu Guix will resume their roles as director from the Academy and musical director, respectively, as well as vocal technique teacher Mamen Márquez and choreographer Vicky Gómez. The rest of the members of the faculty will be new faces that will be revealed later.
The castings to find the contestants for this new edition of OT (the twelfth), which will premiere at the end of the year on Prime Video in Spain and in more than 30 countries and territories in Latin America, will take place from July 3 in Barcelona until September 19 in Madrid passing through seven more cities: Zaragoza (July 6), Santiago de Compostela (July 10), Bilbao (July 12), Valencia (July 17), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (September 6), Málaga (September 11) and Seville (September 14).
On the other hand, OT Cover , the pre-selection initiative for casting calls through social networks that began in 2017, will also be available this year. Applicants will be able to upload a 45-second a cappella song for a chance to be shortlisted and skip the casting line. Throughout the summer, fans will be able to follow the castings in the nine cities live on the OT YouTube channel.
The new season of OT will be the first live weekly content to premiere on Prime Video in Spain. The musical talent show will continue to have a gala with a live audience every week from the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya, located in Terrasa (Barcelona). The galas will last 90 minutes, “one thing that the fans have been asking us for and we are going to give it to them. We want the entire part of the gala to be only focused on the music and who is leaving or who is staying”. said Tinet Rubira, director of Gestmusic (Banijay Iberia).
This new edition, of which the exact release date has not yet been revealed, will last 14 weeks. After each gala, a post-gala will be broadcast live from the set in which a presenter whose name has not yet been revealed will chat with the contestants and teachers, and where exclusive content will be shown.
In addition, this year a daily magazine will be released in which the best of the day will be offered, analyzing the key moments of the week, such as the distribution of songs, rehearsals, the bus tour and the outstanding content resulting from the coexistence of the contestants. In total, OT will offer more than 80 hours of entertainment that will be added to the 24-hour channel live on YouTube.
“OT casting calls have revolutionized the music scene for the past 20 years. Each casting has given us the opportunity to certify the immense talent that exists in our countryâ€, stated Rubira. “We are looking forward to checking it out again this year, starting with the OT Cover initiative and continuing with the face-to-face castings that we will do throughout the country,†she added.
