Last Friday, March 22, Kate Middleton decided to put an end to the speculations and theories about her state of health and starred in a video in which she said that, after undergoing abdominal surgery, doctors found cancer in her body, which is why you have started chemotherapy treatment.

The news left international society in shock. While it is true that one of the strongest theories about the latest actions of the British Royal House was justified by Middleton’s delicate state of health, the announcement has had a great impact among his followers.

The Princess of Wales made it clear that if she had not spoken before it was simply because she had needed time to assimilate the diagnosis, as well as to find the words necessary to break the news to her children.

The social response to the video broadcast by the BBC has been overwhelming, since thousands of people around the world have wanted to dedicate words of love and encouragement to Princess Catherine. Many others have expressed their regret for having contributed to the spread of conspiracy theories on social networks.

One of the television spaces that has echoed the news of the month is Aruser@s, a La Sexta program presented by Alfonso Arús. After covering the topic for weeks, his collaborators wanted to give their opinion on Middleton’s announcement.

The presenter of the program has offered a reflection to the viewers and has made it clear that, for him, the cancer announcement has not been a surprise: ”It is not a question of giving lessons from the past, but in the face of Kate Middleton’s silence, “One of the possibilities was that he was not well physically, it is not a big surprise.”

For Angie Cárdenas’ husband, this is news that could be expected: ”It was predictable. Then, focusing on the topic of alleged infidelities, marital crisis (…) seems gratuitous to me when it was logical for Kate to end up saying that she has problems.’

The host of the Atresmedia magazine has also made it clear that the announcement has been good for them and that the press has closed ranks to protect the English aristocrat: ”With the statement he kills several birds with one stone, even the press that has been more aggressive has closed ranks with her (…)”. Finally, Arús has expressed that, in his opinion, the British monarchy is not going through a moment “as fragile” as many point out.
