Christmas is one of the most special and anticipated times of each year. Holidays, special gatherings, large dinners and, above all, gifts. Depending on the tradition in each country, Santa Claus competes with the Three Wise Men, who will make their particular parade through towns throughout Spain this Friday afternoon. It will be tonight, the one that leads to January 6, when their Majesties leave the most desired gifts in thousands of homes.
Someone who has already celebrated his prelude to Three Kings Day is Alejandro Sanz. The Madrid singer shared on his They are the Jerez composer Manuel Alejandro and the Catalan singer Rosalía. The three spent a pleasant evening in which Sanz even dressed up as the Wizard King.
“Speaking of kings and queens, yesterday I shared with two of their majesties and I can assure you that the magic was present. Thus, another chapter in the history of music is written. Thank you godfather Manuel Alejandro and my sister Rosalía for squeezing my heart. I wish you a night full of fulfilled wishes. Signed: Melchior,” she wrote in her publication, sharing a photograph with the white beard of the well-known king.
The video shows the surprise arrival of Rosalía, with the intention of giving joy to Manuel Alejandro. The Andalusian, composer of the legendary song Se nos roto el amor by Rocío Jurado, was one of the first personalities to congratulate the Sant Esteve Sesrovires after her surprising version at the Latin Grammy Awards in Seville. He dedicated a brief article to her in El País, elevating her figure and placing her at the level of “The Greatest” after her tribute.
“Rosalía, at the Grammys that were held in Seville, forgot about her very different and successful forays into any past or future style, and became the lady of the pop song in essence and presence; she became a lonely and helpless mime; she sang to us static from the depths of her; from her sensitivity that is also broken; from the glass art of her, fragile, transparent of her; and on stage she showed that she was now ‘the greatest,’” she wrote.
The publication has 100,000 views and a multitude of responses, many of them asking for a joint song between three of the most prominent musical figures in the country. “You are beautiful. I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that always, since I was a child, my favorite king has been Melchior, there would be a reason,” commented one user. “May that magic soon be heard through music,” read another reaction.
