The Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico continues to be admitted to the ICU of the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville after the serious injuries he suffered to the head from being kicked by a horse in the Rocío pilgrimage (Huelva). More than ten days have passed, and as has been the case since the day of the accident, specialists continue to maintain that “every day is decisive” and “every hour counts.”

The footballer is being cared for by intensive medicine specialists and pending evolution, and his family remains with him. Especially his wife, Alba Silva, who counts the hours to be able to recover his life again. Meanwhile, her friends are at the foot of the canyon, accompanying the Sevillian journalist to cope with these very hard moments.

Rico’s wife shared a significant publication through her Instagram account on Monday night, in which a message could be read: “Do you know that feeling of feeling family with your friends? It is finding the Light in the shadows, Peace in chaos, Silence in noise”, it can be read, “One more step… that it can be done, because ‘the Plan is the Plan'”.

As the Sevillian confirmed hours before to the media: “Little by little, we trust the professionals a lot.” At the moment, little else can be done, except wait and trust in his good work. For this reason, the journalist prefers to remain cautious and continue sharing and thanking the good wishes of all the followers of the couple.

According to hospital sources, Rico is still hospitalized, but a few days ago good news was anticipated: his brain hematoma is subsiding, and he may even wake up from a coma next week and family members are optimistic about the news regarding his health. This was commented on last Thursday afternoon in Y ahora, Sonsoles, where they also advanced that his representative confirmed that they were going to start removing his sedation.

The family, as they have done from the beginning, remains close to him at all times and is hopeful in the face of the latest medical advances.

News that would have filled his family with hope, especially his wife. That same night, the journalist changed the tone of her messages on her social networks, sharing a hopeful “the whole world awaits me with you” on her Instagram account.

The situation of the 29-year-old goalkeeper is complicated. After the horse fell in El Rocío, Rico received several kicks to the head from the animal once on the ground, which left him unconscious. The goalkeeper received initial medical assistance from the Health Emergencies Center installed in the village, which transferred him by helicopter, in serious condition, to the Virgen del Rocío Hospital, where he remains admitted to this day in the intensive care unit.
