The concern for the state of Sergio Rico continues. The Sevillian goalkeeper who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain was kicked in the neck by a horse on his way to the Pontifical Mass on Sunday in El Rocío and those blows caused him a serious head injury.

After the news of a slight improvement, his wife shared a heartbreaking message on their social networks on Tuesday that would show that the player would not be out of danger yet. “Don’t leave me alone, my love, because I swear that I can’t, nor do I know how to live without you. We are waiting for you, my life, we love you so much,” she wrote, along with thanks for the support received.

After the player’s wife arrived at the hospital early this morning to be with her husband, she left the medical center around noon accompanied by a small group of family and friends. Faced with questions from journalists who have been interested in Rico’s state of health, she has been moved and has burst into tears, but she has only been able to pronounce: “I can’t say anything.”

At the insistence of the reporters, Silva has commented that the Virgen del Rocío Hospital will issue a statement that will explain the details of Sergio’s state of health shortly. For his part, a statement issued by the family on Monday assured that “Sergio is in good hands, fighting to recover while receiving the best care from the entire team at Hospital Virgen del Rocío. We must act prudently, especially in the coming 48 hours”.

“Thank you for all your love for us. Sergio has many people praying for him and he is very strong. I have no words to say how I feel,” Silva wrote on his social networks to thank him for the support received after the news. After six years of relationship, the couple married in June of last year, after postponing their wedding several times due to the pandemic.

The support for the goalkeeper has been in full. The Royal Spanish Football Federation published a message wishing the goalkeeper the best, just as clubs like Tenerife or Elche did. Sevilla, the team where he grew up, also sent his best wishes to the athlete after the accident. Several accounts linked to Real Betis, the great enemy of Sevilla in the Andalusian capital, joined the support leaving aside the intense rivalry that both clubs share.
