Alba Carrillo presents her new television project while criticizing trash TV: "We are going to offer you the television you want"

Alba Carrillo has been absent from television for a brief season. The well-known television personality herself took direct aim at Mediaset when she left the group in May, claiming that she had been fired from it for non-professional reasons. Now, but, she returns with her batteries charged and a new project underway. However, it does not aim to be a conventional program like the ones we are already used to. Carrillo has used her social networks to launch ‘El Salón de Té’.

Little is known about this new idea, but for the moment the proposal has Twitch, YouTube and TikTok channels that will soon offer content. The official Instagram account of this alleged program describes it as a network space, increasing speculation. There is also a strong defense of “enlightened repanochismo”, highlighting it as something that is out of the ordinary. Its main host has taken the opportunity to anticipate some details.

In a video posted on both his Instagram account and that of the project, Carrillo begins with a reference to Woody Allen in the movie Annie Hall: “In Beverly Hills they don’t throw away the garbage, they turn it into television.” The presenter also throws a dart against unspecified programs and television channels, highlighting fashions that succeed in Spain years behind schedule and that now make Allen’s maxim their own.

“We are going to offer you the television that you want,” the model declares forcefully, before starting the project. Beyond these words and images, everything surrounding the project is a complete mystery. The presenter’s comments on social networks do not seem to be concerned about the lack of information either. They simply congratulate her and encourage her with this concept that she has just launched.

Within the possibilities of ‘The Tea Room’, it is possible to think that it is not a project originally intended for television. Despite the fact that the small screen is its great protagonist, it can be a zap space or the exclusive heart of digital content platforms. An idea that would not be very far from following the same path that other television programs and content have already followed in the past.

The best example of this dichotomy being a success in networks is that of the Kings League. The 7-a-side soccer competition with unique rules created by Gerard Piqué does not stray too far from a conventional sports broadcast. It even has its own galas and debates, in the purest ‘Survivors’ style. The extra material provided by the content creators involved, such as Ibai Llanos or Gerard Romero, make it a success on Twitch but their numbers on Cuatro are very poor.
