Aitana Ocaña is one of the most important artists on the Spanish music scene today. After getting a more than admirable second place in Operación Triunfo 2017, the Catalan knew how to lead her career and now she is one of the most listened to singers in our country.
After the success of her last tour and having worked on different more ‘adolescent’ musical projects, Aitana is preparing a new album, Alpha, in which she dares to experiment with new sounds that mix pop, techno and electronic music.
For now, Amaia Romero’s friend has released two songs that have achieved great data on music platforms: Los Ángeles and Las Babys. This last song is a sample of one of the most famous songs in music history: Saturday Night by the Danish artist Whigfield.
To promote her new job and show the world that she is beginning a new stage in music with more mature sounds in which she has felt ”freer than ever”, Aitana is touring different radio spaces, as well as doing programs and interviews. The singer’s last appearance was on the Nude Project podcast, where she spoke openly about her life.
In the radio program interview, the young artist talked about different topics: her beginnings in the Spanish Television program and how her father bought her the tickets to appear at the casting in Madrid, her physical resemblance to La Zowi, her experience in the media focus and the persecution of the paparazzi, drugs in the music industry, etc.
Although the conversation was very interesting and Aitana was clearly answering all the questions, the conversation changed tone when the Catalan explained that she had spent many years seeking acceptance from others and that she has always tried to “like people.” people”, but that has changed: ”I no longer have the need to show the world what I’m worth and what I’m not worth’.
After giving such statements, the former triumph confessed that she had suffered bullying at the music school where she studied, something that left the interviewers stunned. “I always say that I have had a very happy childhood because I have had it, but at the music school they stuck gum in my hair, I have never told this, they also talked about whether I had lice or not, then people don’t got so close to me,” said the young woman.
In addition, Ocaña also shared that she had a very bad time when her mother asked her and that it was difficult for her to tell her the truth. The singer took advantage of this moment to say that once her mother caught gum in her hair while she was combing her hair and that she made up an excuse not to face the situation.
”The album is a bit of everything with electronic references, but there are some sad songs and other super fun ones,” the artist stated in the podcast before clarifying that there are more explicit themes than others.
The artist is very excited about her new project, which will be released very soon. Although there is still no confirmed date, her album is expected to come out in the fall of this year, so we can enjoy her new songs between September and October 2023.
