Michael Costello, Chrissy Teigen have stopped being at odds with claims by the fashion designer that she had bullied and abused him so much that he contemplated suicide.
“I’m fine now. I mean, we spoke, we’re okay,” Costello, 39, said to Fox News Digital Friday at the “Homecoming Weekend” party in West Hollywood, ahead of Sunday’s big match.
The former “Project Runway” star claimed that he had spoken to the 36-year-old “Cravings” cookbook author “a few times” since Costello made his accusations that Teigen had sent him sexist messages via social media back in 2014. She also said that she was trying to block Costello’s professional career by using her influence behind closed doors.
Costello said that although they are not best friends, Costello admitted that they have had some conversations and worked out some things. He added that he had no ill feelings for Chrissy, or anybody, or John [Legend], or anyone.
In an Instagram post that was deleted last year, Costello disclosed the lengths Teigen was willing to go to in order to end his career. This is allegedly due to a social media misunderstanding that Costello apparently made to make Costello look racist. Costello claimed that the images on social media were created by a disgruntled employee.
In a statement that Fox News Digital obtained in June 2021, he claimed that he tried to talk to Teigen feverishly and explain to her the fake social media posts. However, Teigen said that Teigen was not interested in hearing his story and that she only asked Costello to clarify her intent for him to “get to you.”
Costello also uploaded alleged screenshots from his conversation with Teigen, where she allegedly said to him: “Racist persons like you deserve death and suffering.” You could as easily be dead. Your career is over. Just watch. Teigen had publicly refuted Costello’s allegations.
After the controversy became so contentious, Teigen and Costello both resigned from social media. Costello claimed that he discovered some lessons from his civil communication with Teigen that helped him heal the ” unhealed trauma“, which he had harbored for so many years.
“I think the one thing we have in common about Chrissy is that we are both easy targets and we’re kinda damned to do it and we’re damned to fail to do it,” he said to Fox News Digital. He also stated that Teigen has definitely made a significant stride in her personal growth. “People want to attack me and I believe they want to attack her regardless of what.”
He said, “In my situation, I wasn’t trying to get at her. She made the comment about how she had hurt me in the past. I was trying to address that situation. It was discussed and we just came to an agreement. I wish them all the best.
