Adrián Lastra has to apologize in 'El Desafío' for carrying out a reckless action that put him in danger

The night of the second semi-final of El Desafío left a performance that, without a doubt, will remain engraved in everyone’s memory. Adrián Lastra, who has proven to be an advanced student both in Dancing with the Stars and in the Antena 3 contest, faced a complicated dance challenge.

Accompanied by a large group of dancers, Lastra performed a choreography that included acrobatics and a level of complexity never before seen in the program, according to the words of Noemí Cabrera, the coach and choreographer responsible for this feat. The performance was so impressive that the judges couldn’t fault it.

The one who did have reasons to do so was Jorge Salvador, producer of the program. Despite the excellence and impeccable execution of the performance, Salvador had reservations about it, especially because of the risks involved and, if that were not enough, because of the last-minute addition of a stunt.

Lastra, who looked very confident, decided to include a step that put his physical integrity at risk: a backflip leaning on the shoulders of two dancers that he had promised to avoid to avoid greater harm.

After having suffered an injury to the abdomen weeks before, the medical indications and those of Salvador himself were clear. So he was strictly forbidden to do this pirouette. However, driven by his desire to put on a show, the actor chose to disobey these warnings.

At the end of his performance, Lastra rushed to address the team and, especially, Jorge Salvador, with a message of apology: “I want to apologize. The end of this number is the first time that everyone has seen it because they have never seen it.” “I have rehearsed. I broke down rehearsing and Jorge always told me: Don’t do it. I haven’t hurt myself, I’m fine.”

The jury’s assessment was unanimously positive. Pilar Rubio, Juan del Val and Santiago Segura praised the performance, highlighting the “damn barbarity” that Lastra had performed as well as his spirit of improvement and his status as a great artist.
