The announcement that Sergio Peris-Mencheta made last January made many members of the Spanish interpretive scene feel heartbroken. The Madrid actor informed his colleagues and followers that he suffered from unspecified cancer, and since then he has been dealing with the investigations of the treatment and sharing them through his social networks, trying to show his journey.

The last of them is a small video published this Wednesday morning, in which the interpreter is seen preparing for a new intervention with his partner, Marta Solaz, rocking from one side of the bed to the other. “One more stone (in this case three) on the road. Yesterday it was laser lithotripsy. And if I’m here writing it’s because everything went well. Note: the worst of these things is the time they have you waiting to enter the operating room…,” she wrote.

Lithotripsy is a common procedure that involves removing stones from the urinary tract, which is why Peris-Mencheta used an ironic term when beginning his explanations. Since January, the actor has been publishing and commenting on the progress and operations that he is undergoing, such as chemotherapy or the bone marrow intervention that he underwent at the beginning of the treatment, noting “significant” changes in his physical appearance. .

Since she began treatment for cancer, Peris-Mencheta has defended the importance and need of donating bone marrow. “There are many misconceptions about donating bone marrow and stem cells, especially that it is burdensome or painful. But thanks to advances in technology, the donation process is much simpler than before,” she expressed through a thread she published on X (Twitter).

“Millions of people are already in the international registry, which allows 90% of patients in need of a bone marrow transplant to find a compatible donor. The more people who sign up, the more chances there are of finding compatibility for those who need it,” he commented, adding at the end of his explanations a link to the Josep Carreras Foundation, which supports research on leukemia.

The video has more than 5,000 ‘likes’ since its publication, and has accumulated a multitude of messages of support for the Los Angeles-based actor: “I already know that you breathe flooding you to the tip of your toes, that messages from strangers are a mystery not to take into account, I know that what depends on you is great, unique and resilient. And from this little piece of the world and many places on the planet we breathe with you. I feel you. Breathing in unison.”
