Asier Etxeandía has become one of the most acclaimed actors in our country thanks to projects such as Nobody Dies in Ambrosía, Pain and Glory, The End of the Road, Velvet or It’s Raining Cows.

As it could not be otherwise, the Basque interpreter has attended, like many other colleagues in the profession, the Malaga Film Festival, an event to which he has had special affection for some time.

Etxeandía has presented its new film, El Molino, at said festival, in which it stars alongside a prestigious cast of actors and actresses: Pilar López de Ayala, Imanol Arias, Claudia Traisac, Pablo Rivero, etc.

While posing for photographers and the media, the actor answered some questions from journalists and took a stand directly against the abuses in the film industry, as well as supporting all the colleagues who are denouncing: ”The time of the dandruff has to go away. “That it has been hidden and has been underground for so long is shameful.”

Although the actor has not suffered abuse during his career, he confessed before the microphones of Europa Press that he had a very bad time during his childhood and part of his adolescence: ”At school. I have been a child who received bullying at school, by the rest of my classmates and even by teachers, by the priests themselves, indeed, yes.”

”But hey, that has made me the person I am. A person who loves his work. And I had to go through that to dedicate myself to what I do,” he stated and later made it clear that he no longer feels resentment towards all those people who laughed at him because it is not worth keeping negative feelings.

The actor expressed that he was very lucky to have the support of his family at all times, whom he greatly appreciates for their support and affection in times of so much insecurity and low self-esteem. Furthermore, he took advantage of the occasion to encourage all those colleagues who suffered a similar situation to speak out and make bullying visible, an abusive practice that unfortunately millions of children around the planet still suffer from.

Taking stock of his current situation, Asier Etxeandía expressed that he is living a very beautiful stage in his life: ”I am in a good moment, a mature moment, very sure of what I want to do and why I do it. “I am in search of the truth.”
