For many people, the search for love has become a major challenge that leads them to explore new paths in their efforts to put themselves in the middle of Cupid’s arrow. In this way, First Dates, which is broadcast on Cuatro, has become a light of hope that is positioned as the ideal place to meet a possible better half.
Two of the protagonists of the program have been Jota, a photography enthusiast, and Jime, a Uruguayan who is currently enjoying his Erasmus in Madrid. They have liked each other from the first moment, finding in their passions and their way of approaching life a common denominator that has helped make the date a success.
The young woman has confessed that her stay in Madrid is marked by both cultural outings and nightclubs. “I go out a lot if you understand it as a party. But I could be going out every day going to museums,” he confessed, something that Jota really liked, who has also assured that he likes everything that has to do with museums.
Personal transformation has also played an important role in their encounter. Jota, who has stopped calling himself Jorge as a sign of a change in his attitude towards life, has found in Jime someone who shares his taste for the alternative. “Jorge is a person who is in the past and Jota shows my change, my way of being,” he explained, showing his personal evolution and his need to find a partner that fits his new self.
On the other hand, suitors have spoken about their intensity levels in relationships. “Are you very intense?” he asked. To which Jime responded with brutal honesty: “I’m unbearable.” Despite this warning, the boy has not shown any fear: “We can understand each other.” In addition, he has commented that he also demonstrates a lot by being “very detailed.”
What could become a more important obstacle for Jota is distance. Jime is from Uruguay and is in Spain temporarily. For this reason, he has reported that he is not looking for anything serious that could drag on over time. “I know I’m leaving,” he commented.
As Jime has expressed, distance is a very delicate issue for her when it comes to having a relationship: “It’s not my thing. It doesn’t work. Zero.” Even so, what she understands by a long-distance relationship is very different from what Jota understands. The Uruguayan speaks of thousands of kilometers, while for Jota a distance like from Madrid to Barcelona would be a significant handicap. For this reason, Jota is clear about what she would do: “I would try to get him to stay in Spain.”
Although Jime plans to go to Uruguay once he finishes his studies, so he would not be very keen on having something lasting, he did want to give a second chance to Jota, who has welcomed this decision. And, furthermore, he has been pleasantly surprised, since Jime has left the door open to settle in Spain with one condition: “If I find the man of my life.”
