Daniel Sancho has it increasingly complicated. The son of actor Rodolfo Sancho is about to face the trial that will decide his future after confessing to having murdered and dismembered the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta. After collecting all the evidence, the Prosecutor’s Office accused him of three charges in its final report: premeditated murder, concealment of the body and destruction of other people’s documentation.

Given this, the chef, advised by his defense team, decided to deny two of the three accusations, only accepting that he had dismembered his body and tried to hide it. Something that could work against you. “If Daniel had confessed everything, there would be no possibility of the death penalty,” said one of the highest authorities of the Thai Prosecutor’s Office.

This prosecutor has been interviewed by the program Vamos a ver and has not hesitated to dismantle Daniel Sancho’s defense strategy. “Daniel prepared perfectly, he bought the knives and the rest of the material, he did it in advance,” he said. And, according to him, he bought “so many bags” of garbage “to prepare and throw the remains of the corpse there” and not to cook.

If the Prosecutor’s Office is clear about one thing, it is that it is “impossible” to demonstrate the arguments that Marcos García Montes’ team puts forward to lower the defendant’s sentence. According to this highest authority, Sancho would have explained from the beginning that everything was due to a fight and would not have reported his disappearance after dismembering him.

“If Daniel says he acted in self-defense, no, I’m sorry, but no,” he said. And the penalties for each of the situations change exponentially. Although involuntary manslaughter would mean “a few years in prison”, premeditated manslaughter carries the death penalty in the Asian country. Therefore, it is not surprising that the defense tries everything possible.

Furthermore, he has put on the table that since the cause of death is not known, it would not be “a fundamental part of the cause.” “We don’t know if it was because of that discussion or not. It’s not entirely clear,” she said.

In turn, he has ruled that the Prosecutor’s Office has “everything necessary” to go against Rodolfo Sancho’s son. Among other things, they have “many security cameras” that recorded Daniel Sancho before and after the death of Edwin Arrieta.

And it’s not the only thing they have. A few days ago, the list of witnesses they plan to bring to trial came to light. The police officers from the first interrogation, the cashiers of the supermarket where he bought the materials, the owners of the kayak and the motorcycle he rented, the owner of the Bungalow Resort, and Khun Anan, the accused’s first lawyer.
