The tests, challenges and experiments that we see every week in El Hormiguero continue to surprise its viewers, who watch, sometimes with their hearts in their mouths, how the specialists risk their lives. This is precisely what happened this Wednesday during the science test.
On this occasion, the challenge was to lift a car at high speed over a 3,000 kilo bale of straw. However, rain and a wet floor outside the studio caused the vehicle to overturn, doing a pirouette in the air, and suffering a spectacular live accident. What a scare!
“Our specialist is going to try to put a car at maximum speed, in order to lift it on top of a bale of straw weighing 3,000 kilos and measuring one and a half meters in diameter,” Marrón explained before beginning the risky experiment of the night in El Anthill.
In fact, the collaborator emphasized the “very great difficulty” with this test. “As you push, the cylinder also rolls. So it is very difficult to get it on top,” argued Marron. And, added to this, the ground was wet and slippery “more than necessary.” Therefore, “the possibility of overturning is very high,” Marron warned Walter, the expert in getting into the vehicle to do the test.
And one last warning during this explanation prior to the challenge: “If the car overturns, we have our teammates so that if anything happens they will be on the lookout. If it catches fire or they have to take Walter out…”
Next, Walter got into the car, put the car at full speed and tried to get on the alpaca, but it went to the bottom and he couldn’t get on. “It’s all wet and clear… We have everything against us,” Pablo Motos recalled. It was on the second attempt when the monumental accident occurred: the car overturned, almost crashing into the building and the entire security team came out to help Walter.
“Run, run, run,” could be heard as the specialist managed to get out of the window without any scratches. Of course, the spectacular nature of the accident, which paralyzed the progress of the program, made us fear the worst. “Oh Walter, for killing us,” said one of the ants. “What a scare!” added the presenter, who did not hesitate to hug Walter.
However, the expert managed to keep the car on the cylinder for a second. Therefore, the challenge, despite the incident, was counted as overcome. At the end, the program team verified that his partner was not injured in any way and they viewed the experience with multiple cameras. The set broke into applause.
