A single woman from 'First Dates' collapses in the middle of the evening when remembering her previous relationship: ''I was left empty''

First Dates  has become the perfect enclave for hundreds of people to try to find their ideal partner. On Thursday night, viewers of the Cuatro program witnessed a series of dates between different diners, who came with the hope of enjoying an unforgettable night. However, sometimes totally unpredictable situations occur in which diners end up in tears in the middle of dinner.

One of the first diners to cross the restaurant’s doors was Amparo, a 59-year-old Valencian who confessed to being a very party person. Despite her cheerful personality, the single woman had gone through very difficult times. ”I had two meningiomas in each eye, I lost vision in one eye,” she explained. She wanted to find a person who was open, happy and willing to do anything.

His date was Mara, a 52-year-old single woman who confessed to being a very altruistic person. ”They instilled in me when I was little that there is always someone worse off than you, so you always have to help people,” she said. As soon as he entered the restaurant, Amparo noticed that Mara was a smiling person. ”She has a smile like mine,” she expressed.

After exchanging their first words, the presenter accompanied the couple to their table, where they began the evening by catching up on their lives. Amparo was honest with her date and told her about the serious problem she had had in her eyes and the way in which she managed to get ahead. ”That she is optimistic despite the problem in her eyes is to be admired,” Mara declared.

Moments later, the first point against the couple came to light. ”I like sporty girls and especially dark-skinned girls,” Mara stressed after discovering that Amparo didn’t exercise much. However, the single woman chose to flatter her date and silence her true feelings.

At one point during the evening, Mara confessed that she had been living in Valencia for more than 20 years and that she had even moved for love. For her part, Amparo said that her last relationship had been quite hard, something that had caused her to have a shell. ”I have a void since my partner died, I understand her perfectly,” Mara expressed.

In the final stretch of the dinner, Mara broke down when remembering his wife, who died shortly after passing through the altar. ”Grief has no time and is very hard (…) It was the hardest blow you can hit anyone because I was left empty and destroyed,” she said through tears. After taking a breath, Mara confessed that she had decided to go to the program to move forward, but unfortunately she was not yet ready to open her heart again. Therefore, in the final decision there were no surprises and both decided to continue on their separate paths.
