The murder of the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta continues to be talked about in gatherings, front pages and news portals as the weeks go by. Since last August 7, his confessed murderer, the Spanish chef Daniel Sancho, has been under arrest in the Koh Samui prison, more than 750 kilometers from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Information that left many reactions among his closest circle.
The last one was that of a friend of the defendant, who last weekend told Europa Press several outstanding details about his life and some deceptions on social networks, such as the location of his cooking videos on YouTube, which in It wasn’t really his house. Some statements that have come to the surface again after the autopsy performed on Edwin Arrieta, which confirmed the surgeon’s death by slitting his throat.
“We already have the definitive results of the autopsy. First they fought, according to the evidence at the scene (of the crime). Daniel punched him, then the doctor (Arrieta) fell and hit his head against the sink, but he did not He died at that moment, but when (Sancho) began to cut his throat, according to forensics,” Surachate Hakparn, number two of the Thai Police, explained to the EFE news agency on Monday morning.
“At first they tried to divert attention by indicating that there were two people, that it had been due to the relationship they had (Arrieta and Sancho), that this had not been premeditated, but rather an accident that had arisen at the time, but today everyone the elements solidly point to one direction, and that is that there was a whole premeditation,” said the same person in charge days before, when they informed the media that Sancho should be tried with the death penalty.
The statements made a few days before by Luis, one of his close friends, made it possible to broaden the knowledge of Sancho’s image, apparently less genuine than he wanted to appear. “He is a good boy until one realizes certain things. Whatever I can imagine is sure to be a thousand times worse,” he declared, before defining the matter as a “horror movie.”
He also denied that the apartment where the defendant recorded his videos for the YouTube channel Puro Disfrutar was not his property. The chef made his subscribers believe that he was recording in his own home, located in one of the most exclusive areas of Madrid. However, the apartment was owned by an acquaintance of both of them, who often gave it to them to share their creations on social networks: “He was a friend of ours who filmed a couple of episodes of the YouTube channel he had because we had a good grill”.
