There are less than two weeks left to meet the winner of the third edition of Drag Race Spain, the Atresplayer Premium program that seeks the best Spanish drag queen through different challenges in which the participants have to sew, dance, act, sing and make the jury laugh.
While the television space is presented by the incredible performer Supreme Deluxe, the panel of judges is completed by fashion designer Ana Locking and Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi (Los Javis), audiovisual directors and producers.
Although the previous editions were a complete success for critics and fans of the format that comes from the United States, this season is generating a lot of controversy due to an alleged favoritism towards one of the queens: Pitita Queen.
The followers of the program agree that the Catalan is one of the best artists in the edition, but they believe that the production has benefited her and that she is going to win without any emotion. Pitita has achieved victory in four of the nine episodes, so Vania Vainilla, the drag with the second best performance with two wins, is far from getting the crown.
Due to the general tension with the program, some of the contestants are receiving a lot of hate on social networks. In addition to the accusations that reach the great favorite to win, another of the applicants who is suffering a lot of harassment on the Internet is Kelly Roller.
This drag queen from Torremolinos became the fourth expelled from the program, but she returned to the competition thanks to the play-off and a challenge she won together with the aforementioned Vania Vanilla. Despite the fact that she has great charisma and a great talent for makeup, many fans of the format condemn her for not knowing how to sew and for presenting looks that are not ”very elevated”. The artist recognizes her weaknesses, but the harassment she suffers daily has reached such a worrying point that she has decided to give it visibility on her social networks.
Death threats, humiliation, professional degradation… Kelly Roller can’t take any more of the insults and hate she’s receiving on the Internet: ”You are literally sick. This is not deserved by anyone. It’s a fucking TV show. All my life dodging bullying to find it in the Drag Race fandom. What a great shame…”.
”It has not been an isolated case. You have been the entire program, EVERYTHING, telling me barbaric things, but today you have gone too far in quantity and in shape,” said the young woman after the last chapter was broadcast in which it was announced that she was going to the final. ”Very sadly I have to say that the most harassment I have ever received in my life has been from the Drag Race fandom. Ironic and unbelievable, but true,” she sentenced.
If the Andalusian artist is known for something, it is for adding humor to life and for taking all criticism with professionalism and maturity, but the insults and harassment that haters have dedicated to her on Twitter and Instagram in recent weeks cross all limits.
In response to the public denunciation of the situation she is experiencing, hundreds of fans have sent her love and have advised her to report users who harass her, as it is behavior that should be punished.
