There are 301 Catalan municipalities that will be able to access Vodafone’s top-quality 5G network before the end of 2023. In total, they represent 6.3 million inhabitants, 65% of the total Catalan population.

The British-based operator is expanding the available coverage footprint of the 700 MHz band, which provides better connection quality and coverage, especially indoors.

With this new connection they can download content five times faster than with 4G, browse faster and improve the quality of voice calls, especially in rural environments and small towns. Until now, Vodafone provided this top-quality 5G connection in 101 municipalities and 217 Catalan beaches since last year.

Catalonia is the autonomous community that will have the largest number of municipalities that will have this service available, followed by Castilla y León, with 231, and Castilla La Mancha with 176. In total, in 2023 there will be 1,000 to 2,000 municipalities with this service in Spain provided by Vodafone.
