Vespa collectors are especially active in the motorcycle world and are always on the hunt for new versions of the legendary model manufactured by Piaggio. To commemorate that the Pontedera company was founded in 1884 and therefore celebrate its 140th anniversary, the brand’s “Centro Estile” has created a super limited edition that has already become one of the most exclusive Vespa variants of all. the history of the scooter. Only 140 units will be manufactured and their sale has been available for four days coinciding with Vespa Days, the world’s largest concentration of Italian scooter fans.

The Vespa 140 is based on the GTV, which stands out for its low headlight and tubular handlebars. In addition, it is the highest-end model. In the case of the anniversary edition, it is equipped with a special decoration and a high-tech electronic equipment package.

On a visual level, it is characterized by the combination of two shades of blue on a white body – the traditional corporate colors of the Piaggio Group -, a new monogram and the logo celebrating the 140 years.

The brand seeks to highlight the classic tie on the front shield (the watchword of every Vespa), designed with triple air intakes on both sides and central grilles. The front fairing follows the sportier spirit that inspires the GTV. The wheels, also blue with light blue details. The seat has a tone-on-tone double stitching and single-seat design, with the passenger seat cowl cover included; a nod to classic Vespa racing.

Each unit is identified with a numbered celebration plaque located on the countershield, highlighted with the 140-year logo.

As for the engine, the new Vespa 140 from Piaggio has a high-performance 300 cc single-cylinder with 4-valve timing, liquid cooling and electronic injection. With a power of 24 HP, it is the highest-performance engine ever fitted to a Vespa and is perfect for both urban use and suburban tours.

The headlights are full LED, including the characteristic low headlight, while the instrumentation maintains the elegant circular shape, but is now completely digital, a solution that allows you to take advantage of the features offered by the Vespa MIA smartphone connectivity system. Keyless key system, traction control and of course ABS complete the electronic catalogue.

The Piaggio Vespa 140 can be equipped with a range of highly stylish accessories, including a large premium leather rear bag with the Vespa logo engraved and a smooth leather reinforcement on the bottom and on the handles, allowing easy and secure fixation. Some of the accessories that increase the riding comfort and functionality of the Vespa are front and rear luggage racks, a large methacrylate screen and protective bumpers.

Its starting price at the dealership is 9,500 euros, although in the case of numbered units without a doubt this amount will easily double or triple on the collector market.
