Get the riders in the etapeløbet Paris-Nice, after the plan ends Sunday, doubt that they reach all the way to the target, because of the threat from coronavirussen. One that certainly does not reach, is the american Tejay van Garderen from the ef Education First team.
According to the French sportavis L’after a slump he has pulled out of the race to reach home to the UNITED states, before president Donald Trump restricts the entry from the european mainland on Friday.
Van Garderen asked as the only rider not to start, as the fifth stage of Paris-Nice was shot in the time before dinner.
Trump announced on Wednesday evening that the travellers who have stayed in the Schengen area of Europe, from midnight Friday, will be denied entry into the UNITED states. The restriction does not apply to u.s. citizens, but Tejay van Garderen want yet to go home from Paris-Nice in early.
the UNITED states has also taken the step to ask all of the citizens that are on the way out of the country, to reconsider their journey. The New York Times writes that it is the last step before an injunction not to travel.
Tejay van Garderen was number 68 in Paris-Nice, when he chose to forladet the race.
