The management and works council of the LEAR company have reached an agreement for an Employment Regulation File (ERE) that will affect 159 company workers in Almussafes, who will leave gradually during 2024.

After 29 years manufacturing seats for Ford, the company permanently ceases its production activity due to the end of production of the Ford Transit Connect van and the uncertainty of new models in the future, as reported by the UGT union.

This agreement includes a compensation of 45 days per year of service, with a maximum of 42 monthly payments and a bonus of 7,500 euros, in addition to a loyalty bonus of 5,000 euros and 2,500 euros for the staff who joined the company in 1994. and 1995, respectively.

The first departures of the workforce will occur in the month of January 2024, while in April the departure of a larger volume of workers will be undertaken, leaving a very small number of people for logistical and mechanical work that will also complete their work in the following months. functions.

Although it has been a “very complex and complicated” agreement, the company committee made up of ten delegates from UGT and three delegates from CCOO, point out that “they have worked intensely and together to reach the fairest agreement possible,” according to the sources.

“Now, 159 families know that in 2024 they will lose their jobs. The willingness of the company and the professionalism of the staff have made this agreement possible without conflict. This ERE puts an end to one of the first companies that was established in the Juan Carlos I industrial park in Almussafes”, they concluded.
