Is waiting for your electric car battery to charge the new waiting at the laundry? Electrify America is strongly opposed to this idea. It is obvious that charging an electric car takes longer than refueling with gasoline, which is why this Volkswagen subsidiary is committed to improving the experience of users of charging points. The company has installed innovative electrostations with lounges and a cafeteria for its customers in several cities in the United States such as Santa Barbara or Beverlly Hills that would make you feel like you were in an airport VIP lounge.
Electrify America’s intention is clear: to look as little like your average gas station as possible. To install the futuristic charging stations, the company has converted an old warehouse in San Francisco, a location that currently has a glass room with televisions, where customers can liven up the wait while watching television. Other charging points have been designed with a patio, outdoor cafe or waiting room with a vending machine.
At fast charging stations, the time to charge an electric car battery can range between 30 and 60 minutes. Electrify America now wants to humanize and energize these spaces and settle them in locations close to shopping centers to guarantee that the experience of charging the electric car is as simple, fast and comfortable as ever.
Electrify America has equipped its charging stations with solar canopies that, in addition to protecting its customers from the sun and inclement weather, capture and store the solar energy that supplies its chargers. On the other hand, the company is trying to make these places more attractive by installing security cameras and additional lighting.
Additionally, the design of Electrify America’s next-generation charger stations feature a much smaller size and brighter display so customers can easily check the charging status. These ultra-fast chargers have between 150 and 350 kilowatts of power and have a single connector cable, which reduces the customer’s efforts to plug it in, no matter where the port in their car is located.
A Tesla Supercharger station between Los Angeles and San Francisco also has a waiting room with a cafeteria. Elon Musk’s company has even considered the idea of ??opening restaurants next to these charging stations.
