While there is no doubt that large RVs can offer an enormous level of comfort, one must bear in mind that they require a significant dedicated space to park them while not in use. Those who prefer to avoid that requirement by minimizing storage space should consider options like the updated Hitch Hotel minicamper.

And it is that, living up to its name, it intends to offer a mobile hotel room (in a reduced version, yes). This is a surprisingly compact, functional and expandable towable vehicle. At first glance, it may seem like a simple box on wheels to store material, but once deployed in the camping area, it can be seen that it is much more than that.

The Hitch Hotel was born with the aim of reducing the inconvenience of large recreational vehicles that, according to the creators of the minicamper, can sometimes go against the very feeling of freedom that they claim to offer. For this reason, the intentions were to achieve a night shelter with the basics, with a certain degree of comfort and the ability to store some additional equipment when driving.

The result was this proposal that measures only 1 meter long when folded and in which two adults can sleep when unfolded, protected from the weather and other possible external circumstances (such as wild animals, for example). In order to achieve this, it expands thanks to two retractable sections, each with its own stabilization system.

In a matter of minutes, you have a 7-foot-long room with firm padding that also provides three windows, an electric ceiling fan, LED lights, and USB connections for recharging small portable devices. Since the launch of the vehicle, there have been updates that have improved its capabilities. In its latest update, it provides two different finishes.

In the so-called Standard, the minicamper comes with a 12V and 60Ah lithium battery compatible with solar panels if more energy is needed. For its part, the Premium finish has a larger battery (100 Ah) and some extras such as heating system, air conditioning and support for bicycle racks.

The Hitch Hotel is very light, weighing only 431 kg, which allows it to be towed by most cars (loaded, it can reach a total weight of over 800 kg if necessary). In addition, it is made to withstand wind and rain. It should not be overlooked that, thanks to its compact size, it offers easy maneuverability in any type of environment.

As for prices, the Standard version is around 9,000 euros while the Premium is close to 11,500 euros. To see what this minimalist room on wheels is capable of offering, all you have to do is take a look at the video that accompanies this article.
