The TecnoCampus hosts a session of the Dream Big of imaginPlanet Challenge

The TecnoCampus will be the setting, on April 16, for a Dream Big session of the entrepreneurship idea creation program in imaginPlanet Challenge, a project by imagin, the digital services and lifestyle platform promoted by CaixaBank. This initiative is aimed at young people with a passion for entrepreneurship and commitment to the environment.

In its fourth edition, imaginPlanet Challenge presents a significant novelty by lowering the minimum age to participate from 18 to 16 years and also opening it to Vocational Training centers. Students must sign up and form teams of three people to develop their innovative ideas.

In the event that will take place on Tuesday, April 16 at the TecnoCampus, the participation of more than 150 students is expected, who will have the opportunity to be inspired and collaborate in the search for solutions to current environmental challenges.

A jury made up of sustainability experts will select the 10 finalist projects. Among them, the winning team will be chosen, which will have the opportunity to enjoy a stay in Silicon Valley, specifically in the Imagine Creativity Center innovation center, under the direction of entrepreneur Xavier Verdaguer.

Recognized for his leadership in the field of entrepreneurship, Verdaguer highlights the value of the imaginPlanet Challenge program for the participants: “The imaginPlanet Challenge program is a great opportunity to live an entrepreneurial experience. Not only because some of them will end up setting up a startup, but because the entrepreneurial attitude will be very useful in all areas of society. It is a great opportunity to live this experience that is learned through experience and not through theory,” he comments.

As explained by imagin, “with this program, we want to contribute to creating projects that generate a positive impact on the planet and give voice and tools to a generation of young people with environmental awareness and entrepreneurial concerns. Furthermore, with this initiative, we reinforce our commitment to sustainability, which constitutes one of the pillars of our strategy.”

TecnoCampus’s participation in the imaginPlanet Challenge highlights this institution’s commitment to innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability. Through this collaboration, the entrepreneurial ecosystem is strengthened and the development of solutions with a positive impact on the planet is promoted.

TecnoCampus has participated in all editions of the imaginPlanet Challenge since 2021. A team from the center was the winner of the second edition of the imaginPlanet Challenge thanks to the Atom project. This project, led by three engineering students, stood out for its innovative proposal to generate fuel from hydrogen in water.

Atom emerged as the winner among 500 teams registered in the event, demonstrating the ability of young people to develop creative and sustainable solutions. As a prize, the team had the opportunity to travel to Silicon Valley to participate in an incubation program for their project, receive training from prestigious academic institutions, and present their idea to investors and leaders of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Atom project aligns with the objective of the imaginPlanet Challenge to promote initiatives that combat climate change and promote sustainability. Its hydrogen fuel generating and storing device offers an innovative and environmentally friendly alternative, accelerating the transition to renewable energies.
