There are many curious people who now discover the infinite possibilities that the world of caravanning offers, but the passion for traveling with the house in tow is not recent. Hippies began to camp vans in the 70s, but there were already motorhomes that traveled the world. The new Hymer ML-T 570 is inspired by these adventurers, a 4×4 camper capable of fulfilling the dreams of any nomad with exquisite tastes.
The German firm has set out to go one step further with its latest additions, among which we find the luxurious and disruptive Hymer Venture S. The success of its innovative concept was more than expected, so adapting its design and construction philosophy seems as logical as it is complicated.
Basically, a model 6.74 meters long by 2.22 meters wide and 2.92 meters high does not allow so much room for the imagination. It has a wheelbase of 3.66 m and a load capacity of 350 kilograms (450 kg optional) in the garage. These are significant data, given that they provide space and a lot of autonomy during our trips, but they are still not comparable to an integral motorhome. However, Hymer has managed to export the aura of that amazing two-story motorhome in the ML-T 570 that we saw during the last Barcelona International Caravaning Show.
The Hymer ML-T 570 is not completely new in the firm’s range, but it has undergone a relevant update in the interior design, furniture and equipment section. We are, therefore, facing the same model manufactured on the chassis of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. There is another variant, called ML-T 580, which is 24 centimeters longer, but has hardly any differences regarding its habitability.
Its starting price is 103,900 euros for the standard versions, but they can add the star’s famous 4MATIC system for just over 30,000 euros. Under the hood we find a 150 HP CDI diesel engine, with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard.
The ML-T 570 liters. Of course, it is only available for rear-wheel drive variants.
If something characterizes Hymer designs, it is their functionality, but also the quality perceived in each of their details. In this new batch of ML-T, the firm wanted to imprint a feeling of warmth, comfort and sustainability in its materials, in addition to offering a useful, practical and versatile space. To do this, they have intelligently redistributed the storage cabinets, advocating minimalism in two finish levels: Velvet Ash and Native Bamboo.
For color tastes and even in the desert you can choose what type of home you like best. The first design package combines the wood of the walls with dark gray furniture and off-white fabric, so that the spaciousness also coexists with the good taste of the Nordic touch. The Native Bamboo, on the other hand, goes for that natural touch with slats on the wall and “cosy” decorations.
Both models share a configuration of twin beds in the back of 1.90 and 1.86 m long, which can be converted into a double bed 7 centimeters larger than in the previous generation.
Complete kitchen with three stoves, sink and 154-liter refrigerator with freezer. The clean water tank has a 120 liter capacity, so you can travel for more than 3 or 4 days without having to empty and fill these tanks.
In addition, thanks to the 80 Ah battery, energy is assured and the two 95 W solar panels can always be added. The management of ambient lighting, heating and the thermos is carried out through a 7-inch touch screen. inches and includes semi-automatic Tempatic air conditioning.
