Three climbs to the Sacre-Coeur basilica, at the top of Montmartre, the highest in Paris, will be the judges of the Olympic gold in the online test of the 2024 Games, which will make a monumental tour of the French capital at the end of 273 kilometers through the region in its male version and 158 in the female version, the organizers revealed on Tuesday.

The organizers have opted for a long but not very hard route, to end with a circuit in the streets of Paris that will have as its highlight the ascent to Montmartre, 1 kilometer at 6.5% unevenness.

The race, which in its men’s version will take place on August 3 and the women’s one a day later, will begin at the Trocadero, in front of the Eiffel Tower, and will have the finish line located in the same monumental place.

In both cases, the participants will head towards the west of the region on a route that is not too complicated, with 2,800 meters of unevenness in the men’s event and 1,700 in the women’s.

It will be one of the longest online events in Olympic history, although the route does not have great mountainous difficulties.

The peloton will pass in front of emblematic places of the city and its surroundings, such as the Palace of Versailles. The men will overcome ten heights, all of them of low intensity, while the women will have to climb six.

Only 20 kilometers will have a percentage equal to or greater than 5% unevenness and only 1.8 will be above 9%.

The urban circuit in the capital will have 18.4 kilometres, with three ascents to Montmartre, but a final descent until it is again next to the Eiffel Tower.

The time trial gold medal, both for men and women, will be decided on a 32.4-kilometre circuit that will begin in front of the Invalides palace and its golden dome, and will head, this time, to the east of the city, to the forest of Vincennes, before returning to the place of departure.

It will be a totally flat route, dedicated to the great specialists of this type of tests who will be able to develop all their power in search of the Olympic title.
