Verti, the digital insurer of the MAPFRE Group, has launched a new personal mobility insurance, contracted 100% online and designed to accompany people in their daily mobility, regardless of the means of transport they use, whether public or private.
This new product was born in response to the emergence of the era of mobility in cities, in which more sustainable and intelligent transport options take center stage, such as shared cars and motorcycles or personal mobility vehicles: scooters, bicycles, etc. . A new mobility in which “the king or queen is no longer the car, but the person”, as stated by Juan Pablo Galán, CEO of Verti.
Verti’s modular insurance allows the customer to choose between three different modalities: for urban public transport, taxi and transport vehicles with driver (VTC); for temporary use of shared vehicles (car sharing, motorcycle sharing, bicycle sharing and rental scooters) and for owned electric scooters. As Galán explains, the client will be able to choose one, two or all three modalities, depending on his needs. The payment of the policy can also be made on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis, which will allow the expenses to be divided and the insurance to be managed more flexibly.
Among the coverages included in the Verti insurance are civil liability, legal defense, defense in case of fines, personal accidents, compensation for total loss of the owned electric scooter, complementary transportation and medical guidance through Savia, the platform for MAPFRE digital health.
Customers of the new Verti insurance will be able to enjoy a series of additional services, such as basic preventive maintenance (in collaboration with FeuVert) for electric scooter owners, as well as the reconditioning and recycling of these personal mobility vehicles, in collaboration with Rhyde startup. In addition, users will have access to the comprehensive advice service on personal mobility ‘Yo Me Muevo’.
Another advantage of this insurance is that it offers coverage in any city in Spain. As Galán points out, “this is a mobility that is constantly changing, hence the need for insurance linked to the person, not to a specific vehicle, since now people change their means of transport several times a day.” That is why, since its launch, Verti’s new insurance will be in constant evolution, “since we listen to customers and adapt to their changing needs,” says Mónica García Cristóbal, director of Transformation at MAPFRE Spain.
