In recent years, China has emerged as an undisputed leader in the automotive industry. The emergence of large groups that dominate the national market and are expanding their presence internationally, such as Chery or Geely, makes the automotive world pay attention to what is happening in this country. This is the reason why the Beijing Motor Show, which is currently being held, stands these days as the epicenter of innovation and the technological forefront in the automotive industry.
As of May 4, vehicle manufacturers are unveiling 278 new energy car models, seven more than last year, of which 117 models are new. These new models are drawing the line of the future of the automotive industry with a clear trend towards electric and hybrid vehicles and a decline in traditional engines.
“There is no doubt that there is no longer any interest in gasoline vehicles at the Beijing Motor Show. “Everyone is looking for the latest technologies in intelligence and electrification,” says William Li, founder and CEO of the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Nio, in statements reported by Reuters. “If you come here, you should have no more doubts about electric vehicles. It’s not really the future, it’s what’s happening right now.”
Below, we present a representation of the concept cars that are setting the standard at the Beijing Motor Show, which in the near future will be able to arrive on the European market.
