The judge extends the investigation into Pimec and Uatae for two more years

The judge of the investigating court number 17 of Madrid has ordered to extend the procedure “for a possible crime of fraud in subsidies and falsification of documents” by Pimec and Uatae to the years 2020 and 2022. The judge is investigating a subsidy of 266,123 euros that received Uatae after presenting an allegedly false certificate that refers to Pimec. The Ministry of Labor and the Department of Labor alerted the Prosecutor’s Office of the alleged false document used to request aid.

In the same communication dated yesterday, the judge suspends “the statements scheduled for next April 25 until the documentation is received” from the Ministry of Labor on the subsidies for the years now investigated. Those summoned to testify are the general secretaries of Uatae, María José Landaburu, and of Pimec, Josep Ginesta.

Although Pimec defends that it has not benefited from the aid in an agreement prior to the request for the funds, Pimec Autònoms – dependent on the Pimec employers’ association – agreed with the self-employed association Uatae to distribute “proportionally to the representation provided” of the “resources obtained”.
