Today marks ten years since the fateful ski accident suffered by former Formula 1 driver Michael Shumacher in Switzerland. Since then, very little has emerged about his state of health and most of the information ends up being speculation, since those closest to the award-winning athlete neither confirm nor deny. There is absolute silence and great secrecy about it.
What is not a secret is that the 2005 Ferrari F430 Spider that belongs to the German’s family is currently for sale. Specifically, it is in the name of Rolf Schumacher, father of Michael and Ralf (also a former F-1 driver) and its price is around 300,000 euros. This is a much higher figure than what this car would quote if it did not have pedigree.
It is a 2005 model that, on the upper part of the dashboard, incorporates an exclusive plaque with the signature of the Kaiser, who also hand-signed the cover of the co-pilot’s glove box. The sports car has been used relatively little in these almost twenty years; The odometer shows only 29,301 kilometers, meaning it is practically new.
Likewise, its general state of conservation is good. As the company that has it for sale, Gallery Aaldering, points out, the cabin is almost perfect; “Only the wear on the driver’s seat shows that the car is not new, but that it has been used with great care.” The upholstery is made of camel-colored leather and is combined with the typical Ferrari red of the bodywork. The dashboard trim is black, as is the soft top.
This F430 Spider has a 4.3-liter V8 block that develops a power of 490 HP. Coupled to a six-speed transmission, it has a top speed of 315 km/h and can accelerate to 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.6 seconds.
The F430 replaced the Ferrari 360 in 2004 and was produced for five years. It is worth noting that it was the first model of the brand to equip the ‘mannetino’, the steering wheel selector that allows the driver to control the configuration of the vehicle’s chassis and modify the response of the engine, the gearbox, the stability control and the operation of the differential.
